Macron: persecution of Uighurs in China is unacceptable

Orelien Tashe, signed by another 30 parliamentarians, Emmanuel Macron explained that the French authorities are using every opportunity in bilateral relations with the Chinese government to convince him to put an end to the imprisonment of people in camps in Xinjiang. This practice is unacceptable, as it runs counter to the universal principles enshrined in international human rights conventions, the president added. According to the news agency, at the end of July, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian proposed that the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights investigate the situation of Uighurs in Xinjiang.
