French armed forces officer suspected of spying for the Russian Federation

A lieutenant colonel of the French armed forces is suspected of spying for the Russian Federation. This was announced on August 30 on Radio Europe 1 by the Minister of the Armed Forces of France Florence Parly. According to her, an investigation has been launched against a high-ranking officer who is accused of transmitting important information to the Russian special services. Parly added that employees of the French prosecutor's office must determine whether the officer is guilty or not. According to the news agency, on August 21, the US Department of Justice reported that a retired employee of a special unit of the American ground forces, who was suspected of colluding with Russian intelligence agents, was arrested in the country.
