For Georgian citizens may tighten the procedure for leaving the European Union

The bill providing for tightening the procedure for leaving the EU countries was introduced by deputies of the Georgian parliament. The text of the document is posted on the website of the legislative body. If innovations are accepted, then Georgian citizens at the border will need a biometric passport with a validity period of at least three months to leave. In addition, you will need to present a return ticket, proof of reservation in the hotel or the address where the receiving person lives. Also, the traveller should have insurance and a sufficient amount of money. The bill provides for the introduction of criminal liability for forgery of asylum documents abroad. Under aggravating circumstances, the punishment for this, when adopting the document in the form presented, can reach up to eight years in prison. This initiative is due to the fact that in the EU countries they have repeatedly complained about too much flow of Georgian citizens who travel to Europe to seek political asylum or remain there illegally. Recall that since March 2017, Georgian citizens can travel without a visa to EU countries for tourist purposes, to make business visits or to visit someone there.
