In the UK will be banned from using Huawei equipment in networks 5G - media

The UK government will ban the use of equipment from the Chinese company Huawei in the deployment of 5G networks. It is reported by The Daily Telegraph, citing sources in the government. According to the publication, the National Cyber Security Center of Great Britain (GCHQ) has prepared a new report assessing the admissibility of using Huawei equipment in creating the infrastructure of fifth-generation mobile networks. In a previous report on this topic, GCHQ experts noted that the equipment of a Chinese company can be used in non-critical infrastructure elements, but now experts have revised their position. It is reported that the report, which should be presented to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson within a week, recommends completely banning the use of Huawei equipment in 5G networks for national security reasons. The report also notes that US government sanctions had a serious impact on Huawei, which also influenced the assessment of GCHQ experts. It is expected that the final decision on the use of Huawei equipment in 5G networks in the UK will be made before the end of 2020. Note that among the telecommunications equipment of the previous generation of communications networks 4G/LTE Huawei accounts for about one third. It was expected that British operators would use Huawei equipment when deploying a 5G network in about the same volume. As previously reported by the news agency, in June the British government issued Huawei permission to create a large research center in a suburb of Cambridge.
