Russian military in Syria voted on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation
Military personnel from Russia, now in Syria, took part in the vote to amend the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the Russian embassy in the Syrian Arab Republic told reporters on June 30. Voting took place at the Russian air base Khmeimim, the logistics point of the Russian Navy Tartus, in other places of deployment of the Russian military and with strict sanitary security measures. At the Russian Embassy, members of the precinct election commission are appointed who perform direct tasks of going to the polling stations where military personnel will vote, said Elena Kuleshova, representative of the commission at the Russian Embassy. Earlier, the news agency reported that voting on amendments to the Constitution of Russia takes place from June 25 to July 1. The vote count will be carried out on July 1 after 20:00 local time in all Russian regions.
