NASA astronaut told what tourists will do when going into space with the ISS


During the planned spacewalk overboard the International Space Station, tourists will not be assigned any work, astronaut of the American aerospace agency NASA Jeffrey Hoffman told RIA Novosti on June 27. On June 25, the Russian company RSC Energia signed a contract with Space Adventures Inc. of the United States for the delivery by the Russian ship Union of two tourists for a short stay on the ISS in 2023. It is planned that one of these tourists will also make a spacewalk together with a Russian member of the expedition. NASA astronaut Jeffrey Hoffman, who made five space flights and four spacewalks, said that when he went into outer space, tourists would not be assigned any important tasks. He explained that to perform useful work off board the ISS requires long-term training, which tourists will not undergo. They will simply release them outside, give them the opportunity to chat there for some time, after which they will return them to the station, Hoffman emphasized.
